Cornflower essence
Cornflowers are so beautiful.
I have purple, blue, pink, … in my garden.
They have strong anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties, and they are often used to treat ailments such as skin inflammations, stomach ulcers, urinary tract infections and to help with water retention and bleeding gums in the mouth.
Cornflowers are often used in cosmetics to sooth the skin, externally, they have been used as a soothing eyewash and to sooth eczema flare-ups.
To make the flower essence:
Fill a clean glass container (sterilized with hot water) with cornflowers (de-stemmed)
Add (boiled) hot water
Cover with a lid
Let it sit at room temperature for a day
Put it in the fridge for two more days
Strain the liquid through a finely meshed sieve
Transfer the liquid - the flower essence into a clean glass jar (sterilized with hot water)
To make the syrup:
Add the same amount of honey ( I use honey for its antibacterial properties)
Stir well until its mixed
Store it in the refrigerator
Enjoy the beautiful colors from our mother earth :)
