Black sesame tofu ice cream

Black Sesame Tofu Ice cream 



According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, black sesame is very nutritious; it is good at nourishing the kidney, liver and the blood. It also helps with loosening the bowel to relieve constipation. Thus, a good mineral source to keep our hair and skin healthy.

So how does a scoop of Black sesame (黑胡麻雪糕) Vegan Ice Cream sound? 


Recipe


Ingredients: 

1 cup cashew (150g)

265g silken tofu

1/3 cup toasted black sesame

2 cups soy milk or any other vegan milk 

1/2 tsp vanilla powder

1/2 cup + 1 tbs of black sesame paste (black tahini)

1/2 cup maple syrup (the ice cream is not as sweet as store bought u may want to add more if u have a sweet tooth) 

1.5 tbs of nigori sake

5 capsules of activated charcoal (optional) - break the capsules and add only the powder 


Instructions:

1. Soak the cashews in filtered water for  2-3 hours

2. Blend cashews (drained) , tofu, vegan milk, vanilla powder, black sesame, black sesame paste, maple syrup, nigori sake, activated charcoal powder in a blender until smooth

3. Pour into an ice cream maker (press the button according to instructions)

4. Soft serve ice cream is ready! -or freeze for 1-2 hours...

Enjoy!.

 *it doesn’t store very well, if you leave it in the freezer overnight, please let it sit at room temperature for at least 10 mins or more …
